Profile: Finding Your Passion

"Sometimes you figure out your passion by learning what doesn’t interest you. I recognized my calling to preservation while in film school. I found myself more interested in the preservation of the project files than in the script itself.”– Alexandra Curran, Collections Specialist, USFSP Nelson Poynter Memorial Library.

Alexandra manages the digital initiatives related to The Weekly Challenger, an African-American community newspaper from St. Petersburg. She manages the preservation of the collection, conducts outreach, and digitizes the materials into USFSP's Digital Archive. Through her efforts, the stories and unique perspective of community are preserved for future generations.
