Dr. Helen Scales is a marine biologist, documentary-maker and author. When she’s not on or beneath the waves, she writes and talks about the connections between people, science and the living world — in particular, the oceans.Among her BBC radio documentaries, she has explored the dream of living underwater and searched for the perfect wave.Her books include Spirals in Time and Eye of the Shoal, in which she explores the wonders and importance of the oceans and the creatures that live there.Helen teaches at the University of Cambridge and advises the charity Sea Changers on how to help safeguard British sea life. She lives part of the year in Cambridge and the rest by the sea in the far west of France.Free and open to the public
